How The Culture Started -Interaction between Egyptians and Hittites started in the 18th dynasty.
People of Anatolia, Turkey, and Syria are the people that make up the Hittite Empire.
-The Hittite Kingdom established two great empires, the Old Hittite Kingdom, and the New Hittite Kingdom. The Old Hittite Kingdom lasted from around 1680-1500 BCE, and the New Kingdom lasted from about 1400-1200 BC.
-The main city is Hattusha
-They speak an Indo-European language, often called Nesian.

Leaders and Contributions -One of the early kings of the Hittites was named Hattusilis (reigned c. 1650-c. 1620 BC)
-Slavery was really bad in the Hittite Culture. The leader had the power of life and death.
Religion -The religion of the Hittite people was concerned mostly with ensuring the favor of the local deity, whose in most cases was that of a fertility god controlling the weather.
-Their religion comes along with and expression- “1000 gods of Hatti.” The gods that were incorporated into the Hittite pantheon (or the system of gods) were arranged according to their strengths and functions. They were arranged Genealogically.
Location of the Hittites Kingdom -The Hittites Kingdom is located beyond the Black Sea, the Hittites first moved to central Anatolia, making their capital at Hattusa.
Interesting Facts -The kingdom itself was NEVER stronger than it’s leader, and there was never clear laws for how a new king should take power.
-Their known for Iron.
-The gods were to a large extent human, except for their strength and power. -They experience the same emotions as humans: happiness, love, and anger.
Why the Hittites People Ended -Toward the end of the 12th century BC and the beginning of the 11th century BC the Hittite empire disappeared…
-They were destroyed to a society known as ‘The Sea Peoples’. Even though the Hittites weren’t tough enough to fight off the Sea Peoples, the Egyptians were. This ended the relationship between the Egyptians and the Hittites.
History Around 1900 BCE: When the Hittites were first known Around 1800: The Hittites conquered Hattusha. 1680-1650: Labarna established the old Hittite the Old Hittite Kingdom and in so, established Hattusha as the capital. 1620-1590: King Mursili conquered Aleppo. 1595: Babylon was defeated by Mursili. 1500: Telipinu. The last ruler of the Old Kingdom dies. First half 15th century: The Hittite kingdom declines due to internal strife and external warfare. Around 1400: The Hittite Kingdom came back together and began what was known as the New kingdom. 1380: When a period of weakness and foreign invasion occurred, Prince Suppiluliuma takes over the throne. About 1276: Egyptians and Hittites battled at Kadesh, it was known as one of the most famous battles of the ancient world, in which Ramses 2, of Egypt, claims a victory, but the Hittites, stayed in Syria. Their conflicts were never solved. About 1262: The Hittite King, Hattusilis 3, agrees upon a peace treaty with Ramses 2, and gives his daughter in marriage. About 1193: The Sea Poeples invade the Hittites, and brought them to their doom. 12th- 8th centuries: "Many migrations take place in the area, the Phyrgians being the most important group. It is believed that a Hittite identity survives among 2 peoples, the Cilicians and the Syrians. Throughout this period people lived in city-states." Until 710: The Assyrians defeated most of the city-states. 1906 CE: "The royal archives are discovered at Bogasköy in today's Turkey."
